About ConnectedEarth
Editorial Standards
How we decide what to publish, how we structure it, and how we signal what kind of read you're getting.
What we publish
Analysis is human-authored
All Analysis is written by human authors. The Knowledge Base works differently: most entries are AI-generated, within a structure and process we designed and continue to refine. That is what lets it cover the field consistently and link each term to the analysis that uses it. ConnectedEarth remains responsible for everything it publishes. If you spot an error, tell us and we will correct it.
Non-obvious or it isn’t published
If the insight could have been generated by a language model, it doesn’t meet the bar. We publish what requires judgment — not what requires typing.
Operational reality, not ideal conditions
We write about how systems behave when they meet the real world — constrained budgets, remote terrain, legacy infrastructure, regulatory friction.
Consequence stated, not implied
Analysis is unfinished if it stops before explaining why it matters. Every piece reaches a clear implication for the reader’s industry or decision context.
How every piece is structured
Clear thesis
The central argument or finding, stated upfront.
Common assumption
The prevailing belief the piece challenges or confirms.
What’s actually happening
Evidence and operational reality, plainly stated.
Where it works / breaks
Conditions, constraints, and failure modes, made explicit.
Implication
The consequence for the reader’s industry or decision context.
Analysis tiers
One mechanism, explained plainly
A focused look at a single concept, protocol, or failure mode — what it is, how it actually works, and where the common understanding goes wrong.
Patterns across real deployments
A comparative read drawing on 3–4 cases or operators — what each did, how the outcomes differed, and what that pattern reveals about the underlying problem.
A structural thesis on an industry or technology
The longest form we publish. A sustained argument about how something actually works at a structural level — the kind of read that changes how you think about a whole domain.
