Link Budget A link budget is a calculation that sums all gains, losses, and noise contributions in a wireless communication path to estimate received signal quality. The result shows whether the intended… Concept/Framework Link Margin Link margin is the excess of received signal quality over the minimum quality required to maintain the link at the target service level. Concept/Framework Local Oscillator Local Oscillator is the signal source used within a radio or frequency conversion stage to provide the reference frequency for mixing and translation. Hardware Look Angle Look Angle is the directional angle used to point an antenna, sensor, or observer toward a target from a reference location. It describes the aiming direction needed for alignment. Operations Low Noise Amplifier Low Noise Amplifier is an amplifier designed to increase signal strength while adding as little noise as possible. Hardware Magnetorquer Magnetorquer is an attitude control device that uses interaction with a magnetic field to apply torque to a spacecraft, supporting orientation control through magnetic forces without conventional propellant. Hardware Mechanically-Steered Antenna A mechanically-steered antenna is a directional antenna system that uses motors or other mechanical actuators to alter pointing direction and maintain alignment with a target. It is used when physical… Hardware MEO MEO is medium Earth orbit, an orbital regime between low Earth orbit and geostationary orbit used by some satellite systems for communications and navigation. Concept/Framework Mesh Satellite Network Mesh Satellite Network is a satellite architecture in which satellites are interconnected through multiple communication paths. It supports distributed routing and resilience in space. Concept/Framework Microwave Link A microwave link is a directional wireless communications path that uses microwave frequencies to connect two fixed endpoints. It typically forms a transport link for backhaul, intersite connectivity, or critical… Concept/Framework
